I wish Hariyama had higher defenses so he wouldn't be an inferior Machamp or Conkeldurr in playstyle.

Thick Fat is good, but his lack of reliable recovery and shit defenses hold him back from being a true Fighting type tank.

Honestly, not even the other two are considered good these days. I feel like Gen 7 will make fighting types even more obsolete just by the tapus alone.

You have something to look forward to, though. Hariyama is the other mascot of Battle Royal, surprisingly instead of Conkeldurr.

I feel like GF sold themselves short with Hariyama. If they were to release a better defensive/support bulky tank with Machamp/Conkeldurr-tier stats, it would be fantastic

Yeah, HP is reduced drastically, but let's be real, having tons of HP without proper defenses isn't any better. This guy will have Conkeldurr's HP but with better defenses across the board.

Attack is lower of course, but this guy will function more defensively, and 120 isn't too bad. 35 speed means better in TR. Not like it'll needing much speed anyway

Access to Taunt to shut down stallers. Sucker Punch to differentiate priority over Conkeldurr or Machamp

I'm thinking of ways for it to get crap like Magic Bounce/Regenerator or Trick Room by itself, maybe if it was based on an oni with those orbs?

Whatever. I hate how fighting type options in monotype battles are so limited. You're stuck with mostly offense unless you take the same old boring crap with you

Who plays mono here and what is your team?

I tend to cycle Gallade, Scrafty, Toxicroak but Hawlucha, Emboar, Machamp and Conkeldurr are staples. I really don't like using the Swords bar Terrakion for SR and resist to Talonflame.

I tried using Infernape instead of Emboar but there isn't much difference in results. The type really needs a good defensive mon that plays better than Hariyama or Throh

In showdown I like to use different secondary types to cover as many super effective moves as possible.
Right now I'm using:

Yeah but I wanted to have something against Fire types since Lucario, Heracross and Toxicroak with Dry Skin are all weak to it.
I also like having at least two mons with Circle Throw to cancel stat rising strategies.
I use Lucario against Flying and Fairy types.

I noticed Heracross had a ghost type move (Shadow Claw) and ended up using it against Ghost types if Pangoro wasn't available. Megahorn is also very powerful (just ask Darkrai).

I thought Crabrawler looked okay but Crabominable is eh. Not bad but not good for me either.

I'm picking Kommo-o. I won't lie I am a bit disappointed there were no classic martial artist pokemon that stuck to its theme all throughout, though.
