I heard Emerald's RNG was fucked up. If that's the case, what's the best way to shiny hunt in that game? Collected a lot of synchro Ralts of different natures, Illuminate Volbeat and Static Electrike to get certain mons, but I'm not sure if I'm prepared yet.

For catching i just use Spore/False Swipe/Stun Spore/Attract. Really, as long as you have no moves that can KO, you can replace stun spore with anything

But the main barrier is, you NEED a RE shiny from emerald. You can't trade it in, you can't hatch it, you cant SR a legendary, you cant hatch. It needs to be RE. If you do this, get yourself an Illuminate Starmie and the White Flute so you can max the encounter rate.

No they don't have to he shiny, I used regular Reshiram and Zekrom. But like I said before I think Kyurem has to he shiny if you want the formes to be shiny too. Idk if it can be the other way around.

litleo is turning out to be my longest hunt ever but the shiny is so cute i won't give up!! been dexnavving random things, got tropius and petilil last week and a glameow live on video which was fun. i'm afraid the manaphy hunt will be put on hold for sm though, i'm trying to do as much as i can in the days leading up but i'm still scared they'll release an easier way to get shiny manaphy especially with dp remakes in a few years.. but seeing people talk about how rare legit (non RNG) shiny manaphy is fuels me!!

Holy fuck my second shiny ever! It was in Platinum, on Victory Road. My first one was also on Victory Road but it was right before the league, this one was on the national pokédex area. I was just finishing training my first shiny too, which was a Golbat that is now a Crobat and I caught it on sunday. I also love Marley because she used Helping Hand and helped me knock her Arcanine out lol

I also have like 60 Masuda shinies to get which I won't finish until SM comes out but after doing so much hunting I'll take a break long with SM and then hopefully one day finish all the major projects and enjoy battling. Friend Safari has a rate of 1/512. I'd just faint the Pokemon for DexNaving and search for the next until you get your shiny. It may take a while, but it could come as quickly as 20 encounters.

So...I have a question:
I recently completed the dex for the shiny charm and want to start hunting shinys with the masuda method. I also happen to have a X with english language and AS with german language.
So in order to make the masuda-method work , does a pokemon need to be from a foreign version or is it enough to be just from a game with a different language than the other pokemon, even if both games run on the same 3ds?

Language. If you transfer it to your English copy you will see it has a language tag which means that the game recognises it as foreign.

Can you breed your own Masuda Method breeding Pokemon by using a second copy of the game under a different language? When I send one to my English game, it gives it the foreign tag and it gains bonus exp from different OT AND the foreign bonus. Does that mean it will work for Masuda?
