This new shitty in-battle transformation started with Darmanitan back in Gen 5, that's fine and all until they implemented it on Zygarde, all previous Legendaries got permanent formes that you can change at will, but nah Zygarde is stuck as a zen mode clone due to Game Freaks poor decisions and lack of balancing their own game.

Battle Bond is okay, nothing too fancy except that I guess it's kinda neat that "it all comes together". Also, Water Shuriken gets a boost when Greninja has transformed into Ash-Greninja and the move got changed into a special move so it'll capitalize more on the Sp Attack stat of Greninja which is nice I suppose.

Still a shitty concept, especially for those Pokemon you mentioned. Wormadam is a better concept, it changes formes depending on the area/habitat so it isn't limited to take damage to change forme for instance...

Aegislash's ability is great and got strategy to it and its "forme" doesn't change a lot, it just changes from defensive to offensive, nothing drastic like Zygarde - Zygarde Complete.
