Well you're mistaken to be doing so, the game's impossibly easy and is a cashgrab with as little dev effort put into it as possible (the overworld looks so plain it actually huts to look at), they didn't even add new Pokemon on the routes so it's barely different from the original R/S, and the game does nothing but hold your hand, teleporting you to the next town, healing your Pokemon, giving you a fucking Latias before your 6th badge, etc...

While Emerald does have better trainer teams, gym leader rematches and the battle frontier, it suffers from a lot of problems that were fixed in the later generations (most notably the piss-poor level-up movesets for 90% of Pokemon).

Honestly my biggest complaint is the lack of Pokemon from other regions. It was far too much like playing R/S/E because of this, the Pokedex was extremely limited until after you beat Kyogre at which point who cares? I went right back to X afterwards instead of dicking around in backwoods Hoen trying to find rare Pokemon with the dex-nav or whatever.

ORAS is a good game, a decent R/S remake, but a mediocre Hoenn game. Emerald set the bar too high.

Ignore the genwunners Johtoddlers, Sinnohfetuses and Unovabortions, ORAS is a great game and so is XY.

this. although it has some of the objectively worst missteps of the series (handing you for free a lati, teasing like a bith the battle frontier and recycling the maison), I think it had some of the best ideas ever (dex navi, soaring)

I've enjoyed remastered OST as well as new graphics, improved characters and added features. To me, it is much better experience than what RSE have to offer.
