Nope, only clampearl comes as really jarring, the gyarados clones follow this formula and remorse into octillery goes from gun to cannon.

The only odd one in Gen 4 is Rhyperior going from rock rhino into mounted turret rock rhino.

Face it, that weavile sucks ass and doesn't build up on its concept.

I'm not saying it's true across the board - Mega Charizard X and Mega Pinsir both prove me wrong, for example - but Mega Evolution isn't that drastic.

Mega Altaria still looks like Altaria. It just has more flulff. Mega Ampharos just has wool again. All that's really changed about Mega Slowbro is he's now inside a giant Shellder - his face hasn't changed at all, for example. Mega Evolution tries to be more modest in 'evolving' the existing Pokemon than normal evolution does.

Most fan Megas usually go too far.
