there is a chance that it is not only TRAINER + PKMN but + LOCATION

so guzma could meet the UB in room with a lot cables or a server room etc etc.

this would also explain the weird pattern of some of them.

it is kinda obvious that it is the case
it is just not clear if they are from another universe and do look like that because it is an alt universe and it has similar patterns or if they are something else and copy what they see the moment they arrive the first time.

I really like an idea I read on here a few weeks back that the UBs are microscopic Pokemon that have become normal sized for some reason.
