I don't remember pic related being a thing. Did Gen 6 have this too and I somehow completely missed it or did they look at the QR injecting after they "fixed" it and go "Masuda, that was actually pretty nice. We should do that."
I know it's just to register them in your dex and not true injection, but I still think it's something I wouldn't see.

A better argument for GF being more acceptable of using Pokemon that are not yours is the new Rental Team feature, where you can rent a team from someone and use it to battle online. I always treated my genned Pokemon as rentals, and even made their OT "Rental", just to keep track of them, so it's interesting that they are doing something like that now.

From what I understand it's like battle videos, so I doubt it.
But you'll probably be able to just gen a team, upload it as a rental, and then give other people the code to it.

99% sure the QR code will just point to a number on their server and let you select the team only for online battles or something. think like the vs recorder and the codes it give out. I wouldn't be surprised if vs recorder used QR code too.
