XY and SM had very few new mons compared to other generations, less than 80 in both not counting mega evolutions. Some /vp/oreons expect more from GF, especially since they somehow made 150 pokemon in Gen V, and previous generations except VI had at at least 99 new Pokemon. However, Gen V was criticized for their designs in many of the new pokemon and considered a lot of them to either be rehashes of Gen I pokemon or based on inanimate objects.

Even if 100% of /vp/ held both of these opinions, the opinion is still justified becasue the solution to this complaint is finding a balance by adding 95-120 pokemon a generation.
To be fair to OP, I myself count megas and alolan forms as "new pokemon", so I'm actually ok with the number of new pokemon added. Also GF is going to run out sooner or later.
