I think the only reason they might NOT do that is because while several NPCs have suggested or suspected humans and pokemon share a common ancestor (possibly mew itself) in the poke-verse, they like to play coy and vague with it because outside of in-universe speculation (and the whole human egg group) there's still honestly no concrete evidence and making something like that would have massive
