I've been wondering, when the seed releases, how do you get the FBI downloaded preload working?

CIA stands for Ctr Installable Archive. FBI has never been used by Nintendo. They use another program called DevMenu. FBI is a joke on CIA.

When the game releases there will be a game update with the seed and that game update will unlock the game. However, if you installed the game this way, you still have to wait the 18 and if, for some reason, the game leaks earlier, your only way to get it is by install the .cia, meaning you installed the preloaded version for nothing.

Yes, they can, but from the 18/11 onwards.

All this encryption stuff is specifically for eShop games. If someone gets their hands on a cartridge early (which fucking always happens) and dumps the game it still won't make the eShop preloads playable because the cartridge rom does not have the seed/title key.

The only way to get the seed/titlekey is from Nintendo themselves and the only way they'll give it to us is when the game officially releases on the eShop. That's all there is to it.

HOW TO IMPORT SEED WITH FBI.
1. once the seed is released paste it into a new file as hex and name it <titleid>.dat
2. place it in fbi/seed/ on the sd card.
3. open fbi and go to Titles, look for the game and press A, on of the options is import seed.

pic is example seed of 0123456789ABCDEFFEDCBA9876543210 for Pokémon Sun(0004000000164800). note the path D:\fbi\seed\0004000000164800.dat where D:\ is the SD card.
