I get where you're coming from, but you have to remember that this fanbase doesn't consider alternate forms to be new Pokemon, even though Game Freak and Nintendo's advertising does. Half of them still don't consider UBs to be Pokemon, either.

Many of them are incredibly autistic, and assign things meanings based on the strictest possible dictionary definitions and anything that deviates from that simply doesn't count.

But I guess "80 new Pokemon that are unrelated to previous designs" doesn't really roll off the tongue that easily.

Cherrim is a good concept, but it's not executed well. It's Sun form is much better looking than the one it actually is in.

Spiritomb is a pretty good physical attacker with a decent design. I'm honestly surprised anyone would consider it shit.

The babies are, more likely than not, meant for contests or that place you can walk with your Pokémon in. It seems like the perfect place for them, and makes sense since you get them around that time.

Gen 4 was the cornerstone of innovation with the phys/spec split, wifi, and the best remakes in all of Pokemon. What gen bests it?

Certainly not 2nd gen because HGSS trumps the originals.
Certainly not 6th because XY was agreed to be trash and oRaS was a shitty remake compared to HGSS.
Certainly not 1st gen because youd really have to be grasping straws to say gen 1 is better than any gen for anything more than nostalgia.

That leaves 3rd and 5th. While an argument can be made for Emerald the original RS didnt allow you to catch them all and had zero postgame. Even then thats 3 good games for 4th gen (HGSSPt) to 3rd gens 1 (E). And even if BW was decent, we really know B2W2 was 5th gens saving grace.

Im legitimately mad. The first time Gamefreak throws you a complex region, great level scaling, and content you take a fat fucking shit on it. This is why we get straight line regions like BW/XY.
