Overworld Headcanon Thread

Kanto has less Legendary lore than its sister region because it's focused more on technological advancement.

Accordingly, its Legendaries are tied to science (meteorological patterns and genetics).

Every region has other gym leaders and even towns that the player never traveled to.

Kanto is a backwater shit hole.

Unless explicitly stated, Legendary pokemon are not unique. They are, however, incredibly rare and small in numbers.

Sinnoh is the leader in alternative energy sources but special interest groups in every region stunt their development. As a result, Valley Wind Works and Sunny Shore City are unable to implement their wind and solar technology else where.

As for the gym leader thing, yeah. It's basically been confirmed since Gen 1 when Gary showed up with 10 badges. Some of those badges were nothing like the ones we saw in the games or Anime otherwise. Same with the kid from the XY anime.

Although the more towns thing is true, I dunno about the gym badges, it seemed convenient all the other gym leaders explicitly retire or move to other regions so there's always 8 gyms. I do wonder if Marlon or Roxie were still Gym Leaders during the BW events. I suppose there is no way of knowing.
