Mewtwo is like what you would get if Frankenstein's monster was Frieza from DBZ. Its story ends in redemption, even. There's a lot going on, there. It has more depth of character than almost any other Pokemon I can think of.

Not OP, but at 31 Mewtwo is still my second fav Pokemon of all time, behind Scolipede. It and Rhydon are the only two genwun designs in my top 40 Pokemon. Mewtwo is just an iconic character.

Maybe liking Mewtwo is passé, but I don't care. Liking Pokemon AT ALL used to be passé, as well. You can't live your life caring about what other people think about things you enjoy, not if you're not hurting anyone, anyway.

Electrode, Klefki, and Vanilluxe are pretty horrible. Magnemite, Trubbish, and Chandelure are pretty great.

I think there's something to be said for the fact that Mewtwo is uber OP without being fucking massive.

It's obviously the coolest 680 BST uber mon. I really like the gen 2 and 3 uber designs too but they don't have that sleek, minimalist cool factor that Mewtwo has. Then gen 4 happened and every ubermon now has to be a fucking hideous digimon for some reason

Literally the only way to defeat gen 1 mewtwo is to get lucky with status effects (either parahax or freeze - obviously no-one is going to let you sleep their Mewtwo)

It is the most powerful pokemon that ever existed from a technical standpoint, and whether you like it or not that makes it cool
