What if the reason they're doing this Origins/Generations shit is because that one post who's occasionally said that the dub is going in a different direction next season is right, and they're going to run a more serious series instead of Japan's Sun & Moon? Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel and the first two episodes of Sun and Moon dub will air on Nov 19th across US, Italy, and France.

I am not a regular to these threads, the most that I know is that this is the "anime general". I have absolutely no source whatsoever but I figure do not need one because you probably don't even care (unless your fansubs are slow for whatever reason).

The year between the third and fifth Gym in Johto. Not because the episodes themselves were all that awful in hindsight or taken as standalones, but because it was literally "10 rather formulaic fillers, then a seemingly formulaic filler where a Pokemon evolves at the end, then 10 more formulaic fillers and then a gym. And then that entire shit once more just with even MORE formulaic garbage".
The quality picked up considerably after Chuck, and it's pretty clear that was because the writers realized they needed to do something a bit more interesting if they wanted viewers to stay.

The middle of Johto really was horrendous besides the ocassional good episodes here or there.

Ash's Johto team was so stagnant, this is where Misty completely dies as a character and has no personality, Gary only appeared in like 1 episode where he showed his Umbreon, and nothing really happens.

The original trio was also so damn boring as a group. It literally just felt like a placeholder group.

Reminder that amour being the endgame is becoming less and less likely with each new season.

If the anime were to end right now it would no doubt come true.
