I have the same issue.
I am an absolute faggot about cats, and I love Litten. I don't even think luchalitten is a bad design at all, I think it's great, I just wanted a cat instead of a tiger.

My attempt at tackling this problem is to choose Litten but never evolve it, and gen in/trade the other starters in I like, most likely Rowlet.

Tis a shame, but at least I'll keep my cat starter.
