Y'know I really, like REALLY, prefer noises over the mons saying their damn name. At first I had no issues with it since it was kinda fun but now that they're allowing some of them to sound more like animals or what have you, it's much better. Case here being I prefer hearing the Chansey make noises indicative of its emotional state rather than simply repeating "Chansey"

If I recall correctly, Pokemon saying their names was more of a dub thing. Though now I wonder what the various Pokemon say in the Japanese games.

I prefer the animal noises too, but I suppose you could possibly make the argument that Pokemon who have been caught could begin to repeat their name.
