This is the generation with the least amount of pokemon introduced and the most amount of legendaries.

The Generation looks really bad,but the games look good.

It's all about earning a reputation. People automatically know a Pokemon game (especially one with all this type of content) is going to be good. If not good, then they know what type of content to expect.

Not him, but I'm hesitant to consider UBs legendary Pokemon. They're more like Ayy lmaos than any sort of truly legendary creature. Given there was some battle intro vid or something implying Ultra beasts power up similar to totem Pokemon, too, I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't quite at legendary level except for one or two of them. I'm also not entirely sure if the star blob we saw today is supposed to be a pre-evo, I think it might just be the orb. It's obviously related to them, but it's talked about so casually that I doubt it's supposed to be legendary, just rare at best.

For a while there it looked like it might- to the point Gamefreak is flat out copying several aspects of that franchise. It's obviously declining in popularity now, though, probably because they tried to pump out game after game with way too many new monsters to memorize and a large number of them being clones of Jibanyan or a palette swap another monster.

If I can give Gamefreak credit for anything, it's that each individual Pokemon really feels like it could be the only one of its species and be a character in its own right. A lot of other monster sims just try to design species in general, or only give real character to certain designs and halfass others.

Lunaala and Solgaleo don't have pre-evos. The two mons are next to each other in the Dex, followed by Solgaleo/Lunaala-- Meaning they're either version exclusives or second evolves from the first.

A shit ton of Gen 1 Pandering. Too bad it means other gens suffer, including the newest one. I mean fuck really, why does Kanto have the same amount of pokemon in the dex as Alola? It would be less of an issue if there wasn't only 86 new pokemon (I personally don't count Alola forms as new poke as they're just variants on pre-existing pokemon and it doesn't help that they're all from Gen 1 pokes anyways.) with 18 of those being Legendaries.

A side note that kind of annoys me, because I know it'll be the case. Watch all the "Too many Legendaries! Why can't be go back to Gen 1/2 amounts" people not say a word this gen because in reality they're really just Genwunners and didn't like it when the games didn't massively pander to them.
