The only thing I really want them to keep from B/W is making the trainers better. They weren't the best, but they were improved over the usual fare. That said, I felt way more railroaded than in the other games, which kinda sucked. The route variety is also really bad in the early game compared to even Gen 1.

Idk, why do people hate gen 5? The designs were fine, the music was fine, the story was fine... It was just a really fine game. I feel like the hate it gets is mob mentality, early onset alzheimers, memeing, or baiters looking to LEL TRIGGER someone that'll fall for it. It was the most refreshing game to date, XY was too gimmicky and ORAS fell short of giving that kind of wow factor.

I wish people who hate gen 5 would have a valid retort rather than just "unovabortion" or "muh opinion is factual"

Honestly, it's the game that almost made me quit Pokemon. I was really hyped for it actually, but I wasn't sure why it didn't grip me. I'm replaying it right now, and while I believe it did some things right, some things also drag down the experience.

You just can't expect any other group within the fan base to acknowledge this.

The RS remake hype (hoennbabbies) was during gen 5 & they were disappointed it didn't happen then.

Plus with how ORAS was handled they only feel the need to defend THEIR childhood memories even more so.

This is kind of off topic but I think the whole "genwunner" label is fucking stupid to begin with.

It started off as EVERYONE just hating faggots on Facebook who would mention the cards and anime primarily but then hoennbabies spun it onto their own fucking elders within the community in an attempt to shun them for being first.

Gen5 is the best and I don't think we'll ever get a game that good again. Like you said, we've pretty much regressed to babby shit as of Gen6.

But ORAS had some really great mechanics with sneaking and soaring.

Possible, but I still think children were the main demographic. Honestly the whole age thing may simply be limited to the West due to the fact that Pokemon went through a boom and a bust and didn't become part of the culture like it apparently has in Japan. Could be however that while still targeting children primarily, they were switching up the protagonist designs for one reason or another.

Maybe not. I mean, I love the fact that they made it a lot less viable to plow through the game with your starter. Gyms feel more like Pokemon Stadium style tests. It encourages to use lots of different pokemon.

Routes feel like they're on the small side though, and I seem to get stopped a lot more than I'd like. I'm also not a fan of a lot of the early game mons, although that's a personal thing.

I don't necessarily like it in 6 either, but I didn't find it to be as bad. That said, I don't remember X/Y too much, but perhaps I found it tolerable because there's a ton of mons I like using in that game on top of routes generally being bigger.

I played White again recently with a party picked by friends and it was fun.

To me, while Gen 5 is my favourite, there was something strange with how hadeled where games, like new pokemons were cool ,some of the desings are my favourite (chandelure line is my all time fav.), there undoutably where just Gen 1 redisinges or just simple upgrades to them, making several gen 1 at most times absolite (IMO Conkeldure line > Machamp line), also, honestly there is a lot of weak desinges (Unfezant, _pour line (i dislike this monkeys), basculin, emolga alomomola, jinnie).Also games (BW) feeled... not slow but somewhat strained?
