I've been wondering, if trainers start their journey at 10 yrs old, then how old are these kids? They look like how 10 yr olds would really appear while our protags look around 14-15. Can you be a trainer at any age or are there limits to how young you are?

There are School Kids and Preschoolers.
The anime isn't the games

>Can you be a trainer at any age
obviously.
>then how old are these kids?
about the same age.
>are there limits to how young you are?
nope. we've even seen 5-7 year olds being trainers, like the Tuber trainer class in Hoenn.

>if trainers start their journey at 10 yrs old
Thats anime only nonsense anon.
In game is your character always supposed to be a prodigy? Starting off on their journey and beating trainers who've been in the game for years

>In game is your character always supposed to be a prodigy?
pretty much. the protag of any narrative media is usually somebody with exceptional abilities and personality. almost role-model status. this is not surprising, however.

>we will never get a pokemon game of playing the casual life of a trainer or just a pokemon owner with a simple job.

Except not. And made doubly untrue by SM's "Island trials at 11".
The 10/11 thing is said in multiple games.
Only Gen5 and 6 have had PCs older than that.

i think that rule was anime bullshit, but if it was true, i think it'd only apply to challenging the league, etc.

Yes it is, none of the protagonists have been 10. Ever.
>The 10/11 thing is said in multiple games.
Oh boy, this should be good. Tell me which games said this? Don't worry I'll wait.

>made doubly untrue by SM's "Island trials at 11".
You can't start the island trials until you're 11. Nothing says you can't train Pokémon until you're 10/11.
