Delta Episode was neat. Zinnia gets a lot of hate (and she's a bit of an ultracunt), but I liked her story. I hope they flesh her out more in the future.

that being said, i liked ORAS, but that might because the first pokemon games I played were the gen 3 games. I liked the return of the original contests; those were a nice side quest to the main story in the original and they expanded upon them in the remakes, which i didnt expect, so that was super cool.

like most people, i am not a fan of the maision in comparison to the original frontier.

I'll probably get hate for it but Pokemon Omega Ruby is my favourite game in the series. I started from gen 1 and took a break after emerald (my previous favourite) because I never got my hands on a DS until under a year ago when I got nostalgic over seeing ORAS gameplay. Now I've gotten over 350hrs in it and still consistently playing/breeding/shiny hunting to this day. I skipped gen 4,5 and 6 but coming back to pokemon through ORAS has made it so easy for me to play through all the generations I've skipped (also currently in a B2W2 run).

I think it was a refreshing taste to go back to my personal favourite of the first 3 generations, and there were so many features which made it feel so much better for me, such as flying on Latios/Latias, gridless running, sitting on benches (made it feel more immersive) and the easy hatch method on the battle resort to name a few. I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't get a battle resort but it still doesn't make the game any worse for me as I'm not really a competitive player.

I hope Gen 7 finds a way to build upon what ORAS was although they seem to be changing the entire pokemon formula, which I'm guessing playing the gen 6 games has prepared me for.

i actually enjoyed X and Y too because it was just fun for me the first time i played it and thats all i wanted out of a pokemon game.

i think gen 7 will be good as long as you dont go expecting it to follow a formula, which based on what we've seen so far, would be really autistic because they've done a lot to say they're trying something different with the series.

I think Feraligatr is great. Solid design, and great in-game. If everyone didn't judge every single aspect of Pokémon based on "Muh competitive battling" maybe it would be liked more. I think Onix is cool but my friend makes sure to say "Even Oddish has better attack."

It's one of the blandest starter designs in the series. I get that you have awful taste but come on. Even Samurott and Popplimaid are better.

My only issues regarding ORAS, are the closed Mauville Game Corner, Trick House having 6 levels instead of 8, and the odd lack of Gym Leader rematches.

Other than those three issues, ORAS is top class.

Plasma was decent. It had good grunt battle themes, a nice airship, and Ghetis's challenging battle. The gym leader involvement was nice. N was boring. Maybe it's just because I prefer Platinum and think Cyrus is great. At least we can all agree that Team Flare was the worst.

I had to force myself to finish it. Never had that problem with Emerald.

I don't give a shit about the Frontier so that's not even a downside for me. The game was just underwhelming.

Gen 5 is my favorite, but I enjoyed ORAS a lot and fell in love with Super Contests. My 2nd playthrough was laborious because it was a Wonder Trade run so I ended up severely overleveled which killed my interest in the game for a while, but that's my fault more than anything. The game itself was fun, and I feel Hoenn has the biggest sense of adventure of all the games, the leap from Mauville to the route leading up to Fortree was simply phenomenal to play through for the first time.
I'm a dedicated Grassfag, but Swamptert was my starter of choice in Ruby and also my first lv.100.
RIP, Kipp, he died in the line of duty, taken out by a shitty cousin who reset the cartridge without my say-so.
As for X/Y, they're also good, but I only enjoyed them because I denied the 2 starters and 3(?) other gift Pokemon they try to force on you. The huge Pokemon diversity allows for a truly unique run, so getting all those freebie Pokemon kind of hurt my opinion of the game, especially when there were team threads with 'Kalos Starter/Kanto Starter/Lucario'. Some people really missed out on some great Pokemon from Gen 6.

Overall I feel Gen 6 was great but got cut too short, just like Gen 5. ORAS gets too much hate, especially when D/P/Pt are way worse, though I do think not being based on Emerald was a bad call.
