Do you guys still genuinely play these?
Do you still transfer stuff from them to newer versions?
Played only RED, still remember what a big deal it was when someone was about to join the gang and start catching with us. He was simply forced to buy different version than the others, so that variety amongst us would be richer.
>>29421796
>Do you still transfer stuff from them to newer versions
can't trade from GSC to RSE retard
>>29421796
>Do you guys still genuinely play these?
fuck no.
I have good memories and want them to stay that way but the newer games shit all over gen 1 shit.
>inb4 no guard Fissure Machamp
Played them to death as a kid. Replayed them as a teenager.
Bought the VC but I've already been through this, a hundred times. I do intend to buy GSC VC if they ever release them because I haven't actually played Gold since 2000 (lost my GBC).
>>29421858
Actually, you can

>>29421858
Try again retard.
https://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?43835-Gen-1-2-3-Pokemon-Editor-and-Converter-for-Windows-Mac-OS-X
I play my Gold, Yellow, and Red version rarely since I grew tired of XY/ORAS
>>29421894
>inb4 all transferred machamp will have Guts as ability.
>>29421913
>>29421914
This is, in effect, me looking at my stat screen of Gengar in Pokemon Blue and entering it into PKHex for Pokemon ORAS. I can't now go ahead and say I've transferred Gengar from Blue to ORAS.
>>29421942
It'd have to be Steadfast. Guts could be changed to No Guard with an Ability Capsule.
>>29421796
>Do you guys still genuinely play these?
Yes, pretty often. I replaced the batteries in my Blue and Silver. I love playing them.
>Do you still transfer stuff from them to newer versions?
Nah, it's just for shits and gigs.
Though I do have an event Mew from like 1999 on my Yellow that'd I'd like to keep before the battery dies.
>>29421796
>Do you guys still genuinely play these?
No. Literally all my old games (Blue, Gold, Silver, Crystal) can't fucking save data. It started with Gold back when I was casually playing it and has happened to all my fucking Game Boy Color games.
>>29421989
>implying the batteries haven't already died
Maybe if it was like 2008 you'd be safe man.
>>29421796
Is there anything interesting with the eshop release of those game for sun and moon? aside from machamp and mew that i already have.
>>29422043
Try replacing the batteries yet?
>>29421989
This is why I'm glad I still have my Pokemon Stadium games. I can transfer mons into the storage thing they have and they'll be safe.
>>29422048
Put your glasses on.
>>29421989
>Yes, pretty often. I replaced the batteries
>>29422048
Last I check, my Blue's battery still worked, but Silver died back in 2010 or so.
>>29421913
Yeah, I brought that two things years ago, and played for the first time Pokemon Stadium, and with my original bros from Blue.
And thanks to Homebrew Channel, I put my original save (with some Pokemon with egg moves from Silver) on the VC game.
So, in some months, I'm going to transfer them directly to Sun/Moon
>>29422048
I have yet to lose a single battery and I own every game from those days. Sapphire was the only game to give me shit with a, "The internal battery has run dry, the game will play, but time based events will no longer occur" or something like that. Still saved.
>>29421914
transfer it back to gen1 and upward again and see whos the retard
>>29422113
I forgot about Stadium and the other console titles
>>29421796
No, I lost mine ages ago and drifted away from them. I did download Yellow from the e-shop though and I just started it.
>>29421913
This is the most retarded thing I've ever seen. So much money wasted just to "transfer" old pokemon when you can just inject it
I get the nostalgia feeling but, since I train all my pokémon to the level 100 and given the fact that I hate when a pokemon can't grow anymore, I never transfer old pokémons.
On the other hand, I always get a level 1 mew to start a new game since it's my favourite.
>>29422116
>>29422048
Actually never touched the Yellow battery. Never overridden my original save either actually.
>pic related
>>29422113
Word, don't have an N64 anymore. Brother broke it like a year after the GameCube came out. I'm running on borrowed time.
>>29422494
Good luck calculating the Effort Values and the IV of the original onesand repeating this in more than 30 trained mons
>>29421796
Yep. Having a working cartridge around works wonders for Stadium and Stadium 2 play through as well as tournaments with friends so that you don't have to rely on shitty cable links to have gen1 battles.
>>29422087
I didn't know that was a thing (since my other GBA games still work fine) and I don't know how to do that. But I should search how to do it.
>>29423226
It's a start
>>29421796
They're basically garbage by today's standards. I'm not particularly nostalgic so I can't get past how shit they are compared to later gens.
>>29421796
No because the buttons on my gameboy are fucked, have to press really hard for them to work. I could potentialy fix it, but eh why bother when I can just download an emulator
>>29421796
Every couple of months I'll do a run through. That's why I have so many copies
>>29423706
Are you a pro farmer?
I played through Yellow on VC, I started Blue but never finished it.
>>29421796
I play Crystal and Yellow almost annually, although this year I've been trying some Gen 1/2 ROM hacks on my GBC flashcart; Red++ is pretty fantastic!
>>29423706
Jesus christ, Anon
>>29422659
>>29421796
I bought Yellow on my 3DS a while back, I haven't played it much yet, just finished up the SS Anne stuff, I planned on using the game to transfer Gen 1 mons over to Gen 7, but with so many Kanto mons being catchable in Alola it just feels like a waste now.
>>29421796
Of course not. They're unplayable today.
>>29423706
>you have four copies of blue, gold and silver, three copies of red, yellow ruby, emerald, firered and leafgreen, two copies of Crystal, sapphire, pearl, platinum, black and white and one copy of diamond, heartgold, soulsilver black 2, white 2, x, y, omega ruby and alpha sapphire
>i just have one copy of alpha sapphire and soulsilver
i envy you so much.
>>29421796
>twf you caught missingno on your friends games and ruined them in gradeschool
>>29423380
Yeah, I took my Pokemon Crystal and since it's transparent I could see the (big) Battery. Now I just need a way to open the case and replace it. Thanks anon.
I have never played a Pokemon game and am about to start Red with Bulbasaur
>>29424735
Don't start with the old shit
At least start with firered
>>29423706
what a fucking loser
>>29424735
Start with FireRed that way you can transfer up to newer games. It is still just like Red but you have a few new things in it. It also has some Gen3 Pokemon in it
>>29424735
Casual detected.
>>29424735
>>29425082
>not droping your starter
>>29424735
Or you can start HeartGold or SoulSilver and start from there
>>29425082
Watch out for strong pokemon
>No skill, no thrill
Bulbasaur is easy mode, start with Charmander
>>29425239
Charmander is faggot mode, start with Squirtle
>>29425423
But the game gets easy after Cerulean Gym
>>29425082
Seriously, I always thought Squirtle was the easy one.
