Marshadow is the being inhibiting the shell of Magearna, they're the same size, have the same eye shape and color, similar face, and next to each other in the dex.
Oricorio are connected to the island guardians, sharing an elemental type with their respective guardian.

Magearna is actually an artificial Tapu. It has the same tiki shield shtick but as a Pokeball, and secondary Fairy typing. Having all 5 in your party activates an event where they officially anoint Magearna as the guardian of the abandoned Aether Paradise, teach it Nature's Madness, and changes it to the Pokeball forme.
