Besides becoming yellow again I think the biggest change in X/Y is that his facial features got smaller and his forehead got much bigger. His facial expressions also became identical to that of Pikachu whereas he used to have a bit more of his own personality. Uncurling his tail and not standing up on his feet also made him look more like Pikachu.

Thank you for fucking including the Marill line here. Had a big argument with people a while back and all of them were saying Marill wasn't a Pikachu clone when it was the ORIGINAL Pikachu clone. They should've kept that format, a mono-type mouse with 2 stages in every gen with a new type for each gen. We got Plusle and Minun in gen 3 to promote the double battle mechanic but they've been random 1 stage electric rodents since then.
