The Berry Blender was a much needed "fuck you" to the entire old Contest stat system. Like really what it should say is "This was a thing, but no one does it anymore. Because it was fucking shit." The Game Corner was a respectful nod to the original, what with how they removed it from the games period due to complications with gambling as time went on. Though I wish they had done something like make it into an arcade with an emulation of Pulseman or a cheap port of Pinball RS or something like that playable.

The Frontier tease was just dumb, on the other end. It was meant to be a nod like the Game Corner, but the context that made the GC alright just wasn't there and the message being a "coming soon!" rather than a "so long, old friend" made it an outright tease.

Why remind players that other features used to be in Hoenn before, but are not anymore?

I personally wouldn´t have missed any of those features if ORAS didn´t tease them in my face.

But the Maison sisters telling you they are moving to Kalos soon, and that the Hoenn Maison is now "just" a Replica of the Kalos one, and how they Plan to make a better facility, the BATTLE FRONTIER, instead, just leaves the player with the feeling that this is the inferior experience.

Ohmori tried to make a homage of the Battle Frontier and the Game Corner, without including them in ORAS.

Terrible idea. You either add the actual Frontier and Game Corner in ORAS, or if you are not going to add them, don´t even mention the features AT ALL.
