Post your theories about how the Pokemon series timelines work

It doesn't, because they don't care enough to make sure it's consistent.

The timeline really doesn't matter. It's just how its always been only with remakes replacing originals.

XY and ORAS don't make sense in the same timeline though
"advanced" timeline best timeline

the canon one

Between separating Gens 1 to 5 from 6 and adding spinoffs, this is overly complicated for no reason, when >>29387472 gets the point across and is most likely the most accurate. Also the one that's most canon.
This gives the general timeline of events in the series
The most recent rendition of each game is canon to the only timeline that matters
The old games fuck off to the various unimportant timelines
Alright, how's this.
Kanto/Hoenn > Johto/Sinnoh > BW > BW2/Kalos
That's it. Older games just get replaced every time a remake for it is made and is put in an alternative timeline where it stayed relevant aka stopped before it's remake was announced if you want to put it in paper.

Its tgis one. Oras dont even exist in the same universe.
Gen 1 and 2 exist in a seperate timeline.
