We have something like 186 trainer classes and 150 or around that of songs in the soundtrack, more than ORAS at least. We don't have trainer encounter themes but we do have day/night themes, but from the niconico stream it seems like some of the themes are reused for different routes and there may be less towns but still more areas spread out. So why do we have so many tracks and trainer classes, and 3.2 GB? I remember hearing soundtracks as an argument for this being only one region but with so may I think it's possible that at the bare minimum we will have new islands to explore. Models would explain a jump in size but it still seems like a lot for what is presumably a small game.

No one is heartbroken over trainer encounter themes being gone. Rather, it's that fact this is another manifestation of GF's laziness and inane habit of removing things arbitrarily.

Little things like this really add to the charm of the game. Let's look at HGSS, almost universally considered to be one of the best games in the series

None of these things are major selling points on their own. But together, they make the game feel more organic and much more enjoyable.
