I played the original Red & Blue games when they came out and have periodically played all the games outside things like BW2 series.

I just enjoy them because I like having fun, I don't even play competitive it's to hard for me and you have to do that meta thinking of thinking five moves ahead in a complicated rock/paper/scissor - chess

I just like going on the adventure and the light nostalgia feeling I get and I get a little giddy too.

I started in 96, I was only like 4 years old and barely knew how to read. Beat the game with a charizard and a chansey.

I believe BW2 are the best set of games we've had yet, but accept all generations for what they are.

I just classified them basing on stereotypes. The nostalgic guy is a nice guy who dropped the franchise but don't whine about everything and don't shit on other's tastes because they diverge from his own.

It depends when you started playing the game, or anyway when you feel you really got into the franchise.

I was in during Pokémania. Played and loved gens 1 and 2. Played but disliked gen 3. During that time I stopped playing the games, collecting the cards, and watching the anime. Gen 4 brought me back to the series in a big way. I adore gen 4 for that. Played and liked gen 5 but I don't think it's as good as some claim it to be. I disliked gen 6 overall but appreciate some of its contributions.
