been going 3 week(end)s for a shiny litleo with still nothing. it feels like an eternity because most of my other mm shinies i got on the same day i started breeding for them.

last shiny was clamperl from chain fishing and corsola 10 minutes before that. i just wanted Something

fav pokeball is love ball because it's cute. did we find out if any new pokeballs were added in sm?

I don't know what it's called or if you can even use it on normal pokemon, but yes. It's apparently for catching Ultra Beasts, and looks all digital. If you could get a Porygon in it it'd be pretty sweet looking

I've been hunting this Hawlucha for nearly two weeks in the Friend Safari and have nothing to show for it. Did it jump the border or something?

Man, why does the rhyhorn evo line have to get progressively-worse looking as it goes along? Rhyhorn looks gorgeous, like an iron, segmented rhino, Rhydon is sorta neat, you can still see how the armor turns it into a sort of battering ram, but rhyperior's armor just seems like it was tacked on at random. Its arms are kickass though.

I caught it in a Premier Ball. Timid nature, 31 IVs in Atk, Sp. Atk and Speed. My last shiny before this was Lugia on Friday. Think I may try for Entei or one of the trio now.

do you think they'll change the sparkle animation/sound or keep it the same as xy/oras? it would be nice if it didn't take that extra second after you send your pokemon into battle, that's the only thing that keeps me from using shinies really. can't hunt with amie'd pokemon either. drives me nuts

Look at it this way. They probably won't give you the equivalent of Rock Smash right away, but they'll probably give you some smaller pokemon that can help you move around faster than running earlier in the game.

As for the shiny animation, they might change it a bit, but it'd be nice if there was less delay between pokemon appearing and sparkles appearing

Wow I guess I'm not the only one. I always lead my party with a non-shiny who I haven't done anything with in amie, and it can't have an ability like intimidate either. That extra time right at the start really needs to be fixed, besides that when your pokemon turns it's head or lets you pet it is fine. But if I know I'm about to run from something it's just annoying.

Hi shiny hunt weekend, I don't know if you remember me.

I was a regular here for a while in 2014. I was best known because I was so unbelievably autistic that I was going for a shiny female starter--in particular, a Froakie. I was not nearly as infamous as the combee guy, but I definitely knew his pain.

I did end up getting my girl! She took a year of on/off hunting and 3500+ eggs. But alas, after a while, something happened that corrupted my Alpha Sapphire cartridge where I stored ALL my shinies except my very first one.

Recently I've been getting back on the grind and working on reclaiming them--I'm even going for my froggie again! Just not all at once, every other hunt, I'd say.

How have things been? I missed you guys a lot and I'm ready to listen to the clams guy and keep moving forward. I definitely look forward to hanging out with you on weekends, again!

Caught a shiny timid Chatot at 340 dexnav encounters tonight and went to work on Tympole and a shiny bold one popped up at 28 encounters. Both luxury balls.

I got my first shiny hunted and it had the wrong ability after ~630 eggs which isn't as many as other people I know but still frustrating and I don't want that to happen again.

Here's what I do, and it hasn't failed me yet, even after catching 5 or so shiny legendaries

>lead with synch
>write down the PP of the shiny's moves
>subtract them turn by turn
>switch out to damp Parasect
>it I hit 1/2 PP, quit trying to balltism and use the most effective ball
>it I were to hit 1-2PP, Master Ball

So far i've only had to call off balltism on Virizion.

The reason i do 1-2PP is if i miscount. Also, that's not all I do

See unlike that dumbass with his Giratina I know what I'm doing. Doing what I do, you'll never have to master ball, unless you get really unlucky. With Spore+Outspeed, you can more than double the time you have to catch the legendary. If you want to skew the odds even more, bring Trick+Recycle+Leppa

Not only does Soak turn the pokemon Water type, but it almost certainly robs tome of any STAB attack, making it harder to KO your false swiper.

I'd pack Taunt on it too, at least for Dexnav. You never know what could have stupid moves that fuck you over. Skorupi for example gets Whirlwind, and Zorua gets Memento although all pokeballs have a 100% catch rate on route 101

Last shiny was an accidentally hatched Deino while filling up living dex (one of my last 10 of which to have a unique copy - I already have a shiny charm, but no living dex yet)

Gotta say, I love the Repeat Ball. If we're going pure looks, I like the simplicity of a Premier Ball. But I like the design of the Repeat Ball just barely enough, and its functionality is super useful if you've already completed the shiny dex/it's your fourth shiny Foongus in a row why the fuck won't trevanant appear god damnit.

I'd go with +Def -Sp Atk on Smeargle. All smeargle needs to do is use Soak. After that it's mostly disposable, although you might want to use Spore and switch to your other False Swiper

Generally i use Parasect for everything it can outspeed. For everything else I use Breloom. Only problem is Breloom isn't as defensive. You can never be too prepared

Pretty much, although Parasect is the only one that sees real use. Smeargle is too weak and Breloom isn't as bulky. Still, if Parasect gets hit by a few unlucky crits or runs out of Spores, I have backups in the forms of two other catchers and about 500 Leppa Berries

I hate the camera. Fuck the camera. Why does it have to zoom in on my synch for 5 minutes, i need to see if that pokemon is shiny.
