Probably yes, a more physical defensive Tentacruel perhaps, can spin, set Toxic Spikes and Spikes, Spiky Shield, has Poison Point, Rough Skin or Iron Barbs and something to pick from Suction Cups or Bulletproof.

It's most likely based on a poisonous type of sea urchin called shingle which is native in Hawaii. So it's most likely to be Poison/Water.

But with the likes of Rockruff, Lurantis, Kammo-o which don't look like their respective types at first glance, this thing could be anything.

Personally I hope it's a Poison/Fairy. There's no discernible reason for that, though. I just want it to happen.
