How does /vp/ name their trainer? I always do name of the game

I like to name my trainer the time I startes the game. Like I recently started another run of Pearl and named my character 18:09.

Named my Trainer "OAK" at first because I didn't understand. I've named it the Regional Professor ever since (except for Johto, because it has Oak at the Beginning of it, too.

I'll name after PokeSPE character name or their official name. Picking between gender is based on design.

I give it my full name because it's less than 12 characters total.

If i start as a boy i name him after myself. If i start as a girl i name her Emma

My name has always been too long, so I've always used a nickname that I don't actually go by. Now I just use my real name, because it fits. If I play as a girl I use a play on my last name.

I name them after my dogs, or started to when I was little. They're all human names so it doesnt seem strange i guess.

One name for every single game I've ever played. It's a habit I'm not willing to break yet. It's the same for both genders, to boot.

I just always used my real name since I was a kid except for one time when playing XD: Gale of Darkness, I went with the default name MICHAEL by accident.

I rp a character based on a theme I want to go with for the game. So names always vary.

Sometimes, I use a Japanese variant of my name when I have no inspiration. Other times, I just use my nicknames that people have given me.

I name the MC after myself in my main playthough. Otherwise, I name the MC stupid shit like "Doobel" or "Scorps".

I used to name the protagonist their canon name, like Red or Gold.
Since Gen 6 I've been naming them my online name since the increased character limit allowed it to fit.
I've got a new name lined up and I'll use it if it's long enough, but it was one letter too long for MHGen. So I assume it will also be too long for Sun and Moon.

When I play as a boy, my actual name.

When I play as a girl, either add two letters to the end of my name to make it a girl's, or what my parents said they'd name me if I was a girl depending on which I feel like.

I usually follow a theme along with the names of my party mons. It's been a while since my last game before X so I actually can't remember any of my past themes, but for X it was neighborhoods of New York (I'm a native). My player character was Brooklyn, my starter was King (Kings County is the county name of Brooklyn), and all my mons were a different neighborhood.

If I play as a girl, I use my name. If I'm going as a boy, I use my middle name.

For regular run, my online nickname.
For themed run, I pick a name that suits it.
For example, I recently did an all grass team in X and named myself Azalea, which is a kind of flower.
Pic related, a bunch of Azaleas.
I went with female because better clothing options and it feels more apt for grass team
