XY were way better. Nice looking locales, lovely palette and tiling choices, nice music, convenient shops and berry farming. The over world models were great and I really liked customization.

ORAS pissed me off so much partially because I was a huge fan of RSE. Removal of safari zone was shit. No berry blending. No game corner (although that's not surprising). Contests were shittier. Way too many cut scenes and railroading felt horrible. All an RSE remake needed was a nice update to special physical split with an expanded dex for the new Pokemon and it would have been fine. Personally ORAS was a huge disappointment.

I'm replaying x currently and I have to say I prefer it a little, mostly for the clothing and the actual region being new. the only time I didn't get annoyed by the tagalongs was in bw and Christ it's awful in this. Shauna doesn't bug me but the others do. I am enjoying ko'ing calem's pokemon when they force a double battle though.

There are the only really good games on the DS systems. All the rest are pretty lackluster. The 3ds games however are just plain lazy. 0 post game, the main story is way too easy, pokemon games have never been really hard but these new ones are so easy even a mentally handicapped person could finish them. Everything gets revealed before release now, no surprise factor. I just don't get my hopes up anymore. Sun and moon is going to be much of the same, it will be crammed with shitty fetch quests with dialog every 5 steps and hand holding all the way through, easy battles. Pokemon is JUST at the moment. Switch to 3d was a mistake, I would love a large region with lots of post game with Black2 white2 style graphics over a shitty 3ds game any day.
