>Yungoos is not a Pokémon that is native to the Alola region. It was brought to the region to help deal with the explosive population of a certain other Pokémon, and now Yungoos are commonly seen around the Alola region.
What region is yungoos from? Is the yungoos we have techincally alolan yungoos?
What does the original yungoos look like?
Maybe some new region to compensate this small ass one. Somewhere urban.

Yungoos may have come from a region that has conditions similar to Alola.

If they decide to continue with regional-forms (which I personally doubt), they'll probably introduce original Yungoos in the next region.

Rats accidentally came to Hawaii on ships bearing sugar cane in early years, so they imported the small Asian mongoose to take care of the rat problem. But of course, the rats moved to urban areas to avoid mongoose interaction.
This is pretty much the relationship between Yungoos and Alolan Rattata, and they also incorporated that "detective v. criminals" aspect in the two Pokemon as well.
As for Yungoos' origin, we can probably expect a new region that's somewhere in South or Southeast Asia

>detective v. criminal theme
>brought to alola specifically to track down ratatta and raticates
So these guys were forced to play the good guys.
What if in their native region they are more of a rival gang with the rats.
>Native yungoose and Gumshoos
>Dark/Normal type
>Yungoose is grey and its 'hat?' fur now covers his eyes making him look like a dumb goon.
>Gumshoos is now grey, with a black hat, perhaps with a wide brim to look like a classic mobster in a trilby and trench coat. His hat also covers his eyes, but rather than being dumb, it makes him look mysterious.
>These guys are in a Turfwar with Raticates and Honchcrows.
>When moved to Alola, and having no turf to protect, they were more or less forced to be good guys. The sun bleached their fur brown and blond. They lost their furry hat brims due to heat. They still hunt Raticates just because its instinctual.
>Alolan Gumshoos are actually relieved that there are no Honchcrow to deal with in Alola.
