When they weren't revealed to be catchable, i felt their presence actually felt important and that gamefreak was pushing the limits of their game series to see their limits, plus them being bosses in a game that never had real bosses was pretty cool.
I'm pretty sure they will be actual bosses with massive health bars, but now knowing they're catchable just makes them feel like they're abstract pokemon more than anything else, and the thought of people focusing to lower their health to capture them kind of perturbs me
Damn shame too, at least we won't be forced to catch them right?

Anyone feel that only UB-01 and UB-Edgelord would be the only Ultra Beasts available in both games? They're even the first and last ultra beasts to be listed from demo files. The other 6(2 confirmed) seem more like interchangeable counterparts than plot staples.

They callem UBs because Aether Foundation. The 2nd UB to appear is codename Absorption or Beauty. So well meet Jellyfish before UB2. Thier names will probably wont be UB2 in thier dex but by thier codenames or real name. Given the index number Beauty will appear 3rd.

They're different mons. The UB-02 thing is just a codename, and it wouldn't make sense for them to have different numbers because you only encounter one of them.

There was a recent Chinese leak of all the mons names in Chinese, and the Riddler commented on it. The Ultra Beasts have "real" names, so by November we can start calling them by their true Pokemon names.

We don't know if the UB-02s are different Pokemon or just an OVER GENDER using single one.

"UB-## Word" is just a code name anyway. An ultra beast appears and they slap its appearance number and main trait together. It's not like in the anime where Pokemon conveniently say their names.
