You find it on the third island. On one hand it's good since it means it's more of a late game mon so its stats will be from decent to semi-good. But on the other hand, you kinda have to keep an open slot until you reach there, so yeah.

Is that really going to be the case anon? The demo actually allowed you to decide where you wanted a Pokemon to go if you already had a full team. Since it was just a demo, you couldn't send your caught Pokemon to a PC Box and had to either replace a member of your party with the newly caught Pokemon, or set it free. If you chose to replace the Mon in the demo, it would be set free too to make room for what you just caught

I think they kind of hint at that. Maybe not as dramatic, but it's definitely a shadowy, spiky creature of some sort, with ethereal arms of varying length.

Somewhat related, I hope this thing is fucking strong. Like, 130+Atk/SpAtk. Both on a competitive and conceptual basis, this would be rad. Giving it a free substitute no matter what means it can be slow as shit and have shit defenses, itll always have at least one attack, so ideally its a bastard of a move. Also, I like the idea of this incredibly powerful, deadly pokemon just wanting to be loved.

I wish Mimikkyu was a special Pokemon like Rotom so you could only find one Mimikkyu.
I think the story is really cute, that it wants to be loved like Pikachu so it puts on a costume to be like it, but a whole species of them doing that? That means your Mimikkyu is just one of many.
Also a couple other costumes for Mimikkyu of other Pokemon would be really cool
I still really like Mimikkyu but with it being a -whole species- of Pokemon with the same feeling putting on the exact same costume and acting the exact same way it seems a little strange to me.

It's a shame this thing never got an evolution, I've always had this idea in my head where it basically comes out from under the sheet but still utilizes the costume in some way. I like to imagine it uses the tail stick for offense, and keeps the sheet around to remind its trainer of what it once was.

That's all that happens. The neck "breaks" making it obvious that Mimikyu isn't a Pikachu, ruining its disguise. The dex entry implies it never came out of hiding before it began disguising itself specifically as Pikachu, anyway.
