I DO think that new spider one with the bubble over its head is based on this spider though.

It gives itself an air bubble so it can dive to hunt underwater. Pretty neato.

I get the sense it's GF putting a twist on it though. It's based on that kind of spider that makes an air bubble so it can survive underwater, but this one seems to have made a water bubble around itself so it can survive outside of water. Kind of reminds me of the twist used with Lurantis, where rather than a mantis disguising itself as an orchid, it's an orchid disguising itself as a mantis.
