i'm not particularly worried about its metagame potential. between high attack and its stab combo, it's basically going to be a mamoswine with swords dance. and it's got fighting stab be it mach punch, drain punch, close combat. then ice stab so ice punch, ice shard. all the crustaceans get knock off. the reveal showed it using crabhammer and stone edge. wouldn't be surprised to see it get thunder punch either. hyper cutter is a good ability for it too. plenty of options for just thrashing slower teams/defensive cores.

i personally like the design a lot. and i like the ninetales and sandslash forms. so i'm really satisfied with the ice types this gen for the first time since gen 4 ten years ago. feels good.

Anon ice just isn't suited to defense. Even a "good" defensive ice type is not as good as an offensive ice type.

If this and A.Ninetails both have good offensive stats I could actually see them being competitive. There's basically no hope for A.Sandslah though, dex confirms he's slower than regular slash and defense oriented.

Well, from what I've read at least, Fluffy adds a level of resistance to contact (or was it physical?) moves, which are a vast VAST majority of Ice type's weaknesses.
So he'd at least make one heck of a physical wall, something no other ice type has been able to do at all.

At the same time, if it stays offensive, Crabrawler's incredible offense and coverage will slap some shit into the meta.
