What are you gonna nickname him? I was thinking I might name him after Wallace. He would have been his signature pokemon for sure had he existed back then and wasn't a starter.

>>29302611
Caitlyn or just Jenner
>>29302611
If I soft reset until I get a female, naming her Siren or Sedna. If I don't bother, I'm naming him Bangkok.
Brenda after my name and yes he will be male
>>29302878
lol your a guy named brenda that's really gay
>>29302611
>him
I go by that name and two words deal with it
Nico
>>29302611
I can't think of a better name than 'Bowie'
>>29302611
Bob
I'm naming mine Pacifica. Pretty water name for pretty water critter.
I'm naming my Sea Lion friend Shiloh
>>29302855
Seconding Siren.
Seconding soft resetting.
>>29302691
Ebin.
Anyways, Azura.

Resetting for female and good nature, naming her Nayru
>>29303684
>Resetting for female and good nature
Yeah, have fun with that one.
>>29303684
You might get to start the game proper within the in week.
>>29303684
I spent like 10 hours trying to do that for Froakie before settling on something mediocre. I can't recall if I was looking for good characteristics or not, but good luck. You're going to need it.
I probably will do this with Torracat since I want a girl named after my tortie. But I have a Japanese 3ds I plan on starting with first before getting my main game at a midnight release, so I won't be in as much as a rush for her.I'm just going to reset for a female Rowlet on my japanese game so I can just breed for one easily later. I don't need a good nature for that when the shiny one will be infinitely better.
Nayru
>>29303684
I can see changing the sex in a run because aesthetics or breeding capability.
But there is literally no reason to care about the Nature in an in-game run
>>29302611
Funny thing is, when the starters were first revealed, I saw Popplio and immediately made the decision that I'd soft reset for a female and call it Saoirse, after the selkie girl in Song of the Sea. Amazingly enough, the final evolution just happened to turn white and get all mermaid like. It was fate~
>>29302611
Harlequin.
I've always been fond of Astrid or Zelda, but I've always given my Pokémon Japanese names since X and Y. I named my female Chespin Noaka, and I named my Oshawott Marina (this way before I decided to start naming my Pokémon Japanese names; I was running out of other kinds of names). I suppose I will name my "Poppmaid" Kasumi or Nami or something else aquatic.
>>29302611
「Song To The Siren」
If it's female Nia
If male i won't change it
>>29302611
PopplDopolis
I'm very unoriginal so I'm going with Poppy
>>29302611
POPPYBROS!
I don't put/use nicknames, so I'm gonna stay her original name: Mermopplio
>>29302611
I thought about something neutral, which could be both, male and female.
>>29307946
Like Elliot?
>>29302611
>him
Why would you even bother getting a Popplio if you wanted a male pokemon?
The name I wanted to give my Popplio when I first saw it.
Happy Mel
>>29302611
>him
I'm soft-resetting for a female with a Modest nature and calling her Serendipity. It took over 12 hours for me to get a Timid female Fennekin on my first X run, but these are the lengths of my autism.
Probably just going to name him Poppmaid.
>>29303330
Are you talking shit about my waifu?
so he's confirmed water/fairy right?
>>29308310
>12 hours
I got a female Froakie with zero resets. Must be lucky, I guess.
I'm boxing my starter for the first time this gen
Male: Seal-O Green
Female: Sirendipity
>>29302611
>him
>implying I'll use a tranny maid
Only in my doujins, not in game.
I'm not very creative usually. I'll probably name her after a siren or mermaid eventually. Lorelei or Madison maybe
>>29303918
I had the very same idea, my fine anon.
>>29302611
I might name mine "Ariel"; not b/c of the Disney movie, but b/c Ariel is a unisex Hebrew name that means "Lion of God": Since this pokemon is a sea lion, and looks feminine despite having two genders, I think the name is appropriate.
Female: Nayru
Male: Ballio
>>29302611
What annoys me about this design is that it looks even more overtly feminine than Delphox; I can hardly even imagine it as a male. Why are these past two gens using feminine designs like this?
I will call mine Andersen if male
Didn't thought in a female name yet, and I will probably have a male.
>>29310764
Because Nintendo wants to broaden its appeal to little girls? Theyre not trying to cater to your specific tastes.
Anyways, I hate soft resetting (I get bored easily) so I'll take whatever gender I get. Was thinking something Japanese for a boy, like Ryou or Akira. Alice for a girl, maybe.
I'm
>>29310526
And I didn't think of this >>29303918
Even though I saw it like a month ago. Really cute movie and I love Gaelic names/language.
>>29310668
Of course I thought of ariel too, but didn't want to use it partly because it would be cliché, and because <spoiler> it's my girlfriend's name </spoiler>
>>29311038
You don't really see that many guys named Ariel these days, I wonder why. I know it's a unisex name, which is why the spirit in Shakespeare's "The Tempest" was named after the Ariel enslaved by Solomon.
>>29311099
Also, that Israeli president, Ariel Sharon (sp?)
Oscar
>b-but Oscar is a lady
Don't care, is a boy's name
>>29302625
Shit that's good
