It's the extinct volcano to the east and possibly one of the routes leading to it. Irl it's called Diamond Head, so they renamed it Ten Caret Hill. It has the cave and the crater area as seen on the map. I don't think it was the full area though.

I doubt that the same spawns, levels, and trial design would be used for that area. At the absolutely most, I could see some spots of it being used in the final game, but not at all for the same purpose. And probably not all of them, either. I'm much more convinced that it's demo exclusive if it was stated as such.

The problem is the cave only works for that particular trial since it's nothing but photo ops

It can't simply be a swap because we know enough about the first few totems and trials that nothing matches it and theres no trial for ~2 hours anyway

Without the cave the whole area doesn't make sense, maybe they need an empty cave for something in game but it seems so specific to the trial to just be a repurpose

Just don't want people deciding a shitty demo that was just to pander to the anime and show new shit will match the final product

I think that early Pokecenter is just there for the convenience of the first route above your house. Would have made more sense if it was up there, though, yeah.

Tried that a few times. Slopes and stairs are not my friend. Good on you though. It looks like they're making it a lot more natural than it is since that seems to be the focus, but hopefully the cave or crater also leads to an observation deck trail or something. That said, ditto on the tourists.

Yeah, the demo pretty much teleports you around via cutscenes and NPC dialogue. Same reason you end up in the city directly from your house. I think it's just for programming convenience.

As for how dull the place is, its to be expected. I'm still hyped for the region but I do feel a lot of the places are going to have "its 3D" as a replacement for personality.

keep in mind that they're also used as point to fly back to, anon. i wouldnt want to fly two areas over to get to somewhere 2 areas away. the scale and distance between them is also greater than the minimalized version made for the map.

I can agree with the demo area being demo exclusive. I don't see anywhere else that shows the sea on both sides in such a close proximity. I think the cave and the crater are also demo maps at the moment, but ten carat hill puny to not be the final name for not Diamond Head.
