Leech life getting buffed is great. It was languishing with absorb as an old useless move that a lot of pokemon started with, and when absorb (and mega/giga drain) were buffed it was left in the dust.

Bubble also became usable. Now I'm just waiting on Astonish to be 40 BP finally.

They got rid of Hone Claws and Power-Up Punch but kept Frustration.
It's an ancient gimmick nobody used since making your Pokemon hate you goes against the feel-good fundamentals of the story and universe, and the game itself boosts friendship/happiness/etc. fucking constantly so its an uphill battle trying to beat your own Pokemon back down.

I'd rather use Roost on something like Scizor, at least it's a reliable recovery.

A buffed Leech Life that acts like Draining Kiss or Giga Drain / Drain Punch would be better for other mons and bulky sets and such niche sets like Armaldo or whatever. It will definitely help early game mons but competively wise unless you are Genesect, Volcarona, Scizor, Scyther, Venomoth, Heracross and Scolipede, Bug as offensive type is very poor and requires STAB to be decent.

They better have tutors in the first Gen 7 games, no Elemental Punch, Sucker Punch and the likes is an awful experience for a game, unless they reslly want to sell the eventual third version.

Return is perfectly fine. It fits in with the game and story and can be a decent Normal-type attack.
Frustration was created as a blatantly shittier counterpart for the sake of it and should be left behind much like Flash and Cut.
But I am also of the opinion that they should increase the number of TMs. With the ever expanding move list and shifting learnsets, keeping TM total down is going to hinder Pokemon when they lose access to a useful move.
