As a lifeform type, it's really hard for bugs to turn into something else. It's like a Grass type or Dragon type changing. The only example ever is Skorupi, which was only a secondary bug unlike Wimpod.

In general it's pretty rare for something's primary type to change.

I envision it as being a sort of Sudowoodo type thing. It looks like a water type, but it isn't actually and it makes sense when you think about it. It can't live in the water like other water types, it has to create bubbles of air to survive.

I'm more confident that Wishiwashi School form receives a Gyarados and Milotic BST buff but through a non actual evo.

This Wimpod evo looks like one of those painful and shitty forced level up evos we had in Gen 5, something between at least L.40 (like fossils too) and L.50.

If lucky enough it evolves earlier and is the game two stage BST 500 mon like Bronzong for example. Otherwise I can see it with max BST 530 or around Gen 4 cross gen evos BSTs.
