The mid evos came out in September, right? If so, then no I didn't believe until then because the evidence was circumstantial at that point. The mallow argument was definitely there, but it was a bit weaker as the final designed mallow didn't look exactly like the mallow depicted in the leaks (different hair style primarily). Once the mid evos came out it seemed more obvious what the final evos would be based on the changes from stage 1 to 2. The dress on Brionne and Torracat's hair and bell, not to mention Dartrix's name and feather-flinging tendancies.

I was mostly skeptical about Popplio3 because I was certain Gamefreak wouldn't stoop to such obvious waifubait for a final starter evo (think Braixen being toned down a bit after evolving to Delphox). Stoic cat blowing a fuse and becoming an angry and passionate tiger mask?
Attention loving circus seal becoming a diva selkie with starfish headphones?

Only Gamefreak or a truly clever fan could think of these three. Fakemon artists tend to take predictable routes 99% of the time when it comes to starter evos.

Also, the only fake evo that came even close to resembling one of the final evolutions is D.I's Owltair, and even then it uses knives and not arrows. D.I's concepts for Litten's and Popplio's final evos were also fairly predictable, though cannon panther is a neat concept.

I really WANTED to when I first saw them, and I guess I did. I remember being like "OMG THAT BETTER BE POPPLIO'S FINAL EVO." And then just really hoping that they were. When Mallow was revealed is probably when I truly believed.

The dolphin was one of the Tapus.

I believed they were real since day 1 due to them being far too well done and detailed for any fan artist to come up with.

Lets be real, 99.9% of Pokemon fanart is utter garbage and the 0.01% that isn't still lacks some serious professional polish. Not to take anything away from the talented fan artists out there but the leaked starters concepts were way too good for any of them to pull off, just look at how all the attempts to mimic the concepts turned out, they were all an utter mess.
