Alolan Dugtrio is almost certainly one of 4 (5) types, in order of most to least likely:
>Ground/Grass
>Ground/Dragon
>Ground/Fairy
>Ground/Water
>Ground/Rock

So in terms of comparisons...

Regular Dugtrio only has 3 Weaknesses to one common type, one good type, one meh type. He's not no 4x Weakness, so he can handle getting hit by a priority move. His offensive typing is also amazing and tied for either the 2nd or 3rd best attacking type.

Ground/Grass Dugtrio gains several weaknesses, and even gets a 4x from Grass. Offensively, he can now cover Water and Ground with Stab moves, but he doesn't care much about either (He's not staying in on Water and he doesn't interact much with Ground).

Ground/Dragon Dugtrio is now 4x weak to Ice, and gets a Weakness to Dragon and Fairy. He's not fucking happy about this. Offensively, there's almost nothing he would care to use Outrage on over EQ or Rock Slide.

Ground/Fairy Dugtrio would actually replace regular Dugtrio. Two immunities instead of one, Two resistances to useful types (Fighting and Dark) and a resistance to U-Turn users, all at the cost of losing a resistance to Poison (no one cares) and getting a weakness to Steel (literally NO one cares). Fairy STAB would also cover 3 very popular types (Fight, Dragon, Dark), and Ground covers all types that resist Fairy (Fire, Poison, Steel), and there's no overlap.

We all know that Ground/Water is decent but not amazing.

We all know that Ground/Rock is shit on a stick.

Ground/Fairy Dugtrio would be a solid Top 20 in OU for the rest of Sun/Moon's life. Anything else would not be used as much as regular Dugtrio. Ground/Rock Dugtrio would literally drop to fucking RU.

Ground/Fairy Duggy wouldn't be as good as you think in OU as the only new things it'd reliably trap and eliminate are fighting types since it already beats most of OU's darks that it traps (Sableye cannot be trapped, Weavile outspeeds). Said fighting types are M-Hera who can likely survive a play rough and break sash with bullet seed, Breloom who gets undeniably fucked and Keldeo who mostly runs scarf. Then regarding dragons Garchomp and Kyu-B would prolly get fucked if weakened, the rest either already lose to duggy or cannot be trapped.
This is assuming gen 7's OU is similar to the current one I could be completely wrong if new threats are added.
