Robinhoot is good, but nothing special compared to other grass starters (it could be better it could be worse, very middle of the road)

Luchalitten is dogshit, they massively dropped the ball on this one, yet another bipedal fire starter and yet another fire starter with fighting themes.

Poppmaid is also bad but not as bad as Luchalitten as I was never a fan of Popplio in the first place. Just annoyed that it leans too far towards one gender (although so does Luchalitten.)

All in all these starters are just as disappointing as the gen 5 and gen 6 ones. The in game models make them look a bit better but not by much.

I have no problem with Roothoot and Tidalm@ster, but what saddens me about Luchalitten is his concept and him being bipedal greatly increases his chances of being a shit mon. His design looks like he's going to be a strong physical attacker with bad speed and serviceable bulk, and if the starter specific move rumors are true (Aurora Veil belonging to Tidalm@ster and so on) that means he gets the worst out of the three.

I've known them to be real a long time and while it seemed sometimes strange that we learned about them so early, I knew this is what we were gonna get. Robinhoot was a win from the beginning; I think maybe a few people hate it but mostly people are condemning it by association. It's genuinely a cool design and I've always thought that.

Poppmaid I was hesitant at first. I was a full believer after Mallow was revealed but I had gotten attached to Ballio at the time. Ballio still would have been cool! I even thought it was too feminine at first but I got over it because, they're Pokemon, who cares, there are cool feminine things, we have Lurantis in the same gen as proof of that. I now love Poppmaid because i realize it fits in the setting really well, and when it's revealed as water/fairy it'll definitely be my favorite fairy. It's really graceful looking and reminds me of Xerneas in that respect.

I only like Luchalitten because it's fucking hilarious how much it's pissing people off, and how much of a dick it seems to be. It's done its job as a heel excellently.

Love them. Guys they all are based around prominent stories from across the world. Robinroot is based on medieval British lore, Entermaid on greek/roman stories about mermaids and actual dewgongs and seals being their inspiration, and this is what Beltigre is partly based on plus the wrestler Tiger Mask, Heels etc, and the Kasha a kind of dark avenger Yokai whose a corpse-eater that hides in storm clouds, drapped in tiger skin (HINT HINT) who fucks shit up with his super hot flames. So literally it would make sense for it to be Fire/Dark, if not Fire/Ghost or Fire/Electric. Either way it's why he's standing up on two legs, cause he's based on Tiger Mask, Heel Wrestlers, and the anthromorphic Fire-spewing, Corpse-eating badass of Japanese lore that for whatever reason, no one talks about.

This can be spun in two ways. I actually believe the hood doesn't close and it can somehow decide how the vines work since presumably they grow out of him so some aspect of its physiology could determine how its hood works, or it could be interpreted that it does indeed close, but it "focuses" its sight, like how a scope darkens everything but the target. I believed the former because its good actually doesn't close in the action shot where its uses its vines as bowstring (compare to the sideways and back shot where its hood is actually open the same amount, and they chose to have the front facing shot with an open hood so you could clearly see its face), and a reason to believe the former besides just feeling like you have to justify a japanese cartoon animal doing something ridiculous or impossible which you really shouldn't is because its presumed signature move is called "Laser Focus" which would follow the logic that closing its hood focuses like a scope.

I'm disappointed that Luchalitten is real (although I was resigned to it after the Hawaiian girl thing)

however, the model looks a lot better than the shitty leaked art. I'll probably stick with Litten now, although I like the mermaid thing too. I'm actually pretty disappointed with Edgeburd, and always thought it was the worst of the leaks

I like Litten's final stage, and adore Popplio's 2nd stage (but not the final one). Rowlet's final stage is just okay.

I don't think I'll be using any of them in-game, though.

Obviously the archery isn't going to be accurate because it's a fucking game, but this is a really creative way to use both bird feathers and grass features.
