Do you really want to do the same thing over and over... gyms are repetitive. The new trials will likely be many different activities. Not just beat easy trainers with pre evo/the same mons as leader then beat super easy leader over and over.

Don't take Gen 6's sins and extrapolate them to be a thing in every generation. As recently as Gen 5 we had gym leaders that could crush you into the dust if you weren't careful (hi Elesa and your legion of Volt Switch spammers). And gyms often had puzzles or gimmicks you had to navigate through too (especially common in later generations).

Are you people so completely sick you'd rather just have scavenger hunts or whatever will end up replacing it?

Ive been playing from gen 1 so yes im tired of it. And it wasnt just gen 6 most gyms are just too damn easy and the puzzles dont help as most are so easy a 2 year old can do them. It well past time they change it up. Dont get me wrong not every gym is cake ive had a few that ive lost to but 90% are filled with weak ass teams and/or bring x pokemon and one shot your way to a win.
