Maybe. Shiny unfortunately isn't an indication that we can catch them, since even the stuff in Pokestar Studio had a shiny variant. Gamefreak put them in as a safety in case people using action replays were using a code to make every encounter a shiny. It prevents the game from crashing.

Ok, theory time. THIS is the final boss, while >>29232738 is a Yu Yevon like encounter. Gladion has been holding himself back from transforming for a while, he's on his last legs though. He helps you defeat >>29232827
in a Double Battle and afterwards starts to lose control of himself.

He gives you Silvally, you must replace one of your Pokemon with it and he asks you to finish him off to finally stop the Ultra Beast threat. You battle against him and every attack has a message after it.

The attacks still hurt though and you can lose the fight, but it's more about the emotion at the time and victory comes easy as soon as you start to attack.
