I was considering doing my second playthrough of Sun/Moon with only Alolan formes.

I have since changed my mind. I like this gen overall, but the Alolan formes are disappointing to me.

I don't see how why everyone's throwing a fit over Persian when they committed a fucking crime on Golem.

At least Alola Persian is a simple variant; they literally threw shit at the wall for the Golem-line that's completely redundant (Probopass did the whole 'iron filing' facial hair thing and was the perfect mon to do that with, and we JUST got a railgun-mon with Vikavolt) and is not only extraneous and ugly, but it feels like they missed the whole point of the three to begin with.

Persian is still a smug-ass cat, but Golem can't even roll anymore with that black shit.

The only thing that looks like it could be interesting to use is Raichu, though its normal form is pretty fast already. It also looks stupid.

Alolan Vulpix/Ninetales should have been a new species based on arctic foxes.

I have some low hopes for Geodude's and Diglett's lines, but on the whole Alolan variants look like a failure that doesn't bring anything new to the Pokémon. Besides some STAB Bite and a few double weaknesses.
