Lots of blank spaces. Not having knowledge of game design, could this just be to keep the system more efficient in some way? Or can we expect possible hidden additions?

1 blank entry between Gumshoos and Grubbin
1 blank between Vikavolt and Crabrawler
1 between Lurantis and Morelull
1 between Salandit2 and Stufful
2 between Mimikyu and Bruxish
1 between Kommo-o and Tapu Koko

My thinking is some of these are for their Totem forms, and some are for Evos/pre-Evos or other lines.

That would make sense. We know Raticate, Gumshoos, and Lurantis are Totems, and they all have black voids after them.
