Nothing, there is no point. Ash vs Alain is something you could compare to Cyrus plan. From our view Cyrus is batshit insane and his plan would never work but by Pokemon standards its god damn brilliant because he had everything to make it possible. Now look at Ash vs Alain. 5Ds was originally written with a specific number of episodes and clear character and plot developments in mind since it was supposed to be a relatively short follow-up to the GX series ending after 150+ episodes.

Part way through they were told to change it to accommodate for adding more episodes than was originally planned for, so they couldn't end the series how they intended. Most of what followed from this point ended up being pretty terrible as a result.

It's more or less a similar situation here, except that you kinda knew in advance that Pokemon would be doomed to continue in this manner forever.
