Even if it is it still strongly resembles a Fighting type. Delphox while not a particularly amazing design was a nice change of pace for fire starters. Now we've gone right back to the same old routine.

Emboar doesn't look fighting type at all. Most people guessed dark because it looked like an orc or demon or ground because mud I guess. Does that mean Emboar was okay? Most people wrap it up in the same package as Blaziken and Infernape because it's fighting type, but you're saying the type doesn't matter. Which is it?

Because it didn't become another bulky, muscly fire/fighting type. They weren't against it standing up so much as it being another bulky fighter. People were worried that as soon as it stood up, the boxing gloves would come on. When Braixen was revealed, it's made it pretty clear the path they were going with it was that it was going to be based on a witch.

(Although people still didn't like Delphox's design, but not because it was standing up so much as it's in-game model made it look horrible)

Luchalitten's typing might be fire/dark, but with it's appearance it might as well be fire/fighting, it's essentially another Embroar. Fire types have not had a good history of not becoming a bulky fighter when they stand up, hence why people hate it when they do.
