I'd really love a water-type Phanpy, as some kind of throwback to Phanpy being able to learn Water Gun in gen2.
>>29172892
Oh, I do.
Alolan Phanpy / Donphan
Water
Lacking the flat savannahs that the line usually depends on for grassy foods, Alolan Phanpy and Donphan settled in the shallow waters surrounding the Alolan islands. Their favorite foods are algae; In consuming this, they ensure that the waters remain crystal-clear and biologically diverse. Upon evolving to Donphan, the Pokemon gains a unique shape and body patterns that make it resemble a tea-kettle; Thus Alolan Donphan are generally treated in popular culture as whimsical, easy-going, and proper creatures. However, this variety of Donphan is just as aggressive and territorial as any other Donphan, blasting huge quantities of water at high velocities from their trunks in lieu of a rolling charge. As such, they can only be successfully domesticated under the supervision of a dedicated and knowledgeable trainer, or in zoos with the proper staff, enclosures, and levels of funding.
Abilities - Sturdy or Mega Launcher
Moves - Water Gun, Water Pulse, Roar, Torrential Pulse (new Water-type move with 10 PP and 30 BP, it hits 2-5 times and each impact has a 10% chance of inducing Confusion in the target)

Due to the Alola region being more environmentally conscious the Garbodor line did not have much loose garbage to form from. To counter this, they began Hiding inside of trash cans, untill the evolve fusing with the cans themselves.

Retains the bigger abdomen on females and has convergent Mega Evolution with normal Scizor.

Alolan Regigigas
Normal/ maybe water or fighting. I just need to keep the fighting weakness.
Finally finished pulling the continents with its great ropes, a Regigigas stopped and rested at a hot spot, waiting for the day it could once again be of use. The ages of man passed and the Regigigas, so alone and isolated, never saw man nor its accomplishments. Legend has it that when the ancient Alolans ventured out into the far reaches of the sea, farther than any sane voyager would go, Regigigas was awoken and reinvigorated. Sensing that a new age of exploration had dawned for mankind, the Regigigas once again grabbed its rope and pulled at whatever it could. Sensing the titans eagerness, the ancient alolans offered it a great hook for whatever shreds of its rope remained. With several mighty tugs, the giant had pulled several massive islands from the sea floor, creating a new island chain. It's said that the regigigas still toils to this day, pushing the island Chain ever westward as the hotspot creates new land.
Based on the Legend of Maui raising the islands with a fish hook and Polynesian colonization of the Pacific/ South American trade being an extremely interesting exploration era.

Wow, its nice to see someon liked my edits enough to post them! I'll add my definitions.
Sinnoan Octillery
Water/Fire
The Octillery that live within the Sinnoh Region are less agressive than those found elsewhere. Though they have lost the ability to expel water at high velocities, they have in turn gained the ability to generate powerful flames from within their bodies. Sinnoan Octillery have developed a careless and relaxed attitude towards hunting prey, and as such are not able to keep up with the Pokemon they once fed on. Instead, Sinnoan Octillery drag themselves ashore and attach themselves to the sides of seaside cliffs and mountains, where they burn craters in search of minerals- their main source of food. If you see holes in the side of a cliff near the beach, its a sure sign that Sinnoan Octillery have been feeding there!
Abilities: Suction Cups/ Unaware/ Moody (Hidden)
Moves: Flame Burst, Flamethrower, Overheat, Inferno
Poison/Fairy Mimikyu: Took off the sheet, but kept the Pikachu head.
Fairy/Fighting Breloom: Lived in areas surrounded by Morelull.
Ghost/Normal Litten: After the success of Type:Null, the professor decided to test his limits by bringing a deceased Litten. The test did not go as expected...

Sinnoan Marill
Grass/Fairy
The Marill who originally migrated to the Sinnoh region found home in the meadows of Floaroma. It is believed that the mysterious power of Floaroma's Gracidea flowers is what transformed Marill into the way they are now. Now, these Marill are found all throughout the Sinnoh region! Unlike Marill found elsewhere, Sinnoan Marill can't float in water using their tails. Sinnoh's Marill are able to grow their own berries, which sprout at the end of their tails. They will protect their berries with their life, and are known to the people of Sinnoh as the 'fairies of the forest'.
Abilities: Harvest/ Aroma Veil/ Huge Power (Hidden)
Bullet Seed, Aromatherapy, Magical Leaf, Grasswhistle
Sinnoan Azumarill
Grass/Fairy
Marill that evolve in the Sinnoh region become Sinnoan Azumarill. These Azumarill are not as capable of swimming and underwater battling as Azumarill found elsewhere, but instead have the ability to produce their own berries which they share with sick or injured people and Pokemon. Azumarill's berries grow back very quickly, so they do not mind plucking them off and offering them to others. It is a common sight to see Sinnoan Azumarill at Pokemon Centres and nursery homes, as they love to help those in need, offering both medicinal and emotional support.
Abilities: Harvest/ Seld-produce*/ Huge Power (Hiden)
*When this Pokemon's HP drops below half, it will automatically recover one quarter of its total HP
Moves: Petal Blizzard, Seed Bomb, Giga Drain, Wood Hammer
Growlithe
Water
Growlithe have been known to roam across grassy fields and long savannas, but due to the lack of large fields in Alolah, Growlithe have migrated to the long beaches and shores of Alolah. In this new environment, they have adapted to hunt for food in shallow reefs which granted them the ability to swim overtime. After years of exposure to the water Growlithe's body changed to where its eyes have adapted to see underwater, and its wild orange fur has slicked down into a teal blue color fur, allowing it to swim swiftly after its sea-dwelling prey. Its stripes are now replaced with dark blue swirls, acting as an environmental camouflage among the blue corals of the shore's reefs. The cellular structure of the fur on its mane and tail have changed to where it soaks up water filled with air bubbles, giving it a light, quick, and airy appearance. Growlithe uses these air bubbles as a source of oxygen when diving in to the deeper depths of the sea.
Abilities: Swift Swim, Sheer Force
New Moves: Aqua Jet, Aqua Tail, Dive, Hydro Pump, Rain Dance, Scald, Soak, Surf, Water Pulse, Waterfall, Ice Fang,Icy Wind, Recover
(Loses access to all fire moves, Solar Beam, and Morning Sun. Loses -10 bp in def/spdef, Gains +20 in speed)

>Alolan Sneasel/Weavile
-Having not been able to adapt to Alola's harsher tropical climate, Weaviles took refuge in the forests to shield themselves from the sun's rays. Over time, the line has grown to adapt to to both heat and be more physically active. Their appearance has taken on tribal jungle warriors and they've gained markings made of dried mud, berries, and grass filament. Their appearance also has longer headdresses and more expansive gems. Think Odolwa from Majora's Mask, only not as intricately designed for simplicity of design. Stat changes reduce speed by 20 or 15 to buff defense.
-Ability: Anger Point/Tough Claws
-Moves: With a plethora of more offensive moves than utility, Alolan Weaviles are designed to withstand more hits, but still damage the opponent with speed in mind, but with a more offensive and savage typing.

Arcanine
Water
After Exposure to a water stone, Alolan Growlithe Evolves into Alolan Arcanine. They are seen as guardians the shores of their respective island, and the protector people who dwell on them. This pokemon has been known to save the lives of drowning surfers and swimmers, carrying them on to the shore for others to find. For this, the people of Alola show great respect for Alolan Arcanine.
Alolan Arcanine's muscles have been strengthened due to constantly swimming in the depths of the ocean. Its jaws are capable of snapping the shells of its prey in half with ease; biting down with pressure of over 2000 PSI, competing with the likes of Hippowdon in Sinnoh. Its fierce strength paired with its speed in water makes it an optimized predator!
Abilities: Swift Swim, Sheer Force
(Loses -10 spatt, -15 bp in def, -15spdef. Gains +20 att, +20 spd).
Alolan Caterpie
Bug/Dark (I'm really sorry for another dark retyping)
Abilities: Stakeout
HA: Tough Claws
New Moves (completely replaces original By Level moveset): Level 1: Bite, Level 3: Sucker Punch, Level 8: Bug Bite
Alolan Caterpie, despite a rich amount of plant life available to feed upon on the Alolan Islands, have developed into a carnivore species. They can be found on 2 of the four islands, with different patterns serving as camouflage among leaves or tree branches. The Alolan Caterpie is a master ambusher, cleverly disguising itself and waiting for any Pokemon around its own size to wander too close, before springing its trap.
Not sure if Metapod or Butterfree would be affected by this type changing aside from the moves they would inherit.
Alolan Voltorb/Electrode
Type: Electric/Water
Due to major electricity sources being scarce in the Alola region, Voltorb and Electrode that made their way from other regions had no natural habitat, and instead stuck to the beaches where they could hope to catch lightning from the infrequent rainstorms to keep their energy high. Over time, their camoflage changed, which resulted in them appearing more like beach balls than Pokeballs, and their tendency to hang out in shores and the rain gave them a natural affinity for water. However, lazing around on the beach has somewhat hindered their speed.
Abilities: Lightningrod, Motor Drive, retains Aftermath as HA.
New moves: Aqua Jet, Surf, Scald, Waterfall, Water Pulse, Dive, Soak, Hydro Pump, Brine, Sucker Punch, Wild Charge,
gets a significant increase to Attack and a minor increase to Special Attack, and a moderate loss of speed
No explanation needed.
Not forgetting the image this time, although this completely harmless leaf has nothing to do with the post. In fact, disregard the rest of this post.
Alolan Caterpie
Bug/ Dark
Abilities: Stakeout and I want to say strong jaw but Yungoose
Soon after its original discovery, scientists were perplexed with Hawaiian Caterpie's odd behavior. There certainly were an odd number of bug types especially of the complex of bugs strangely found on lower numbered routes, but alolan caterpie had them stumped. They offered it leaves, fruits, flowers, and even grubbins favorite live wires, but it simply stood stretched out upon its leaf, uninterested and unmoving. During one test, a cutiefly happened to get into the enclosure. It was probably attracted by the aura of the flower. The scientists then learned why the strange caterpie wasn't interested in what they had offered.
Based on the actual story about how scientists discovered that Hawaii's caterpillars evolved into carnivores since mantises and the equivalent didn't make it until post contact. I just changed the fly to that got in into cutiefly. Unfortunately, the moth is pretty normal.

(although, I do think it would be interesting to have a elec/ghost type that has elec/fire/ghost/steel move set)
>>29176934
Typings have shown to not really mean anything apart from gameplay recently, considering most of the cofirmed Alolan forms and a lot of Dragon-types
>>29176994
I agree, and this pattern is decreasing the quality of the gameplay for me. I get frustrated when I see type combos that do not work well with the concept of the pokemon.

>>29173843

>>29177402
Magikarp/Gyarados are based in chinese mythology. Gyarados reflects traditional Chinese dragons in many ways, inclduing being able to fly despite lacking wings. I don't know why Golduck wasn't psychic, but that is an appropriate example.
>>29177498
In that case, gyrados should have learnt fly but not been flying type.
>>29172863
"NOT NOW ANON"
>>29177538

That'd be dope
Gen 6 did a thing with Gen1 starters (megas) so I'd like to see Gen 7 give us something with Gen 2 starters. So, I propose Alolan forms of the Gen 2 starters
Alolan Chikorita line: Grass/Steel. the various leaves and flowers are metal plates, and vines are now barbed wire. Gets Sharp Claws as a new ability, as well as moves like Metal Claw, and some slash moves like Night Slash, Slash, etc.
Alolan Totodile line: Water/Fighting. Claws instead fatten and harden into boxing gloves, head ridge fattens to look like boxing headgear. New ability Iron Fist, gets more punch moves like all 3 elemental punches, Shadow Punch, Close Combat, etc.
Alolan Typhlosion: Fire/Fairy. has a small unicorn horn that grows as it evolves. back flames are instead a pink fairy dust type of thing. New ability is Lightningrod, gets various horn moves (Megahorn, Horn Drill) and various fairy attacks (Play Rough, Moonblast, etc)

OP here...love all of these ideas. Might make a GBA game with a bunch of retypes.
Alola Slaking
Dark
Slaking in Alola are very active during the night. While it sleeps during day, it is usually seen running at night, trying to attack nightly wanderers.

Ability: Nocturnal
This pokemon falls asleep at the start of battle during the day.

THis is fucked up. They're basically drop bears.
>>29184325
This is also good. But I like the other one a little better. A fusion of the two would be ideal.
I am the guy who had the idea for the sea snake ekans/arbok.
>>29187055
Maybe we could finallr get something like this.
>>29172863
I created this for a thread a while back.
Alolan Mareep is a Fire/Rock-type. Due to living so close to the volcanoes on Akala Island, it soaked up ashes and dust into its wool coat. Over time, it became used to the heat and its coat hardened up. The coat is filled with a lot of hear. Whenever it gets into a fight, its coat cracks a bit and the red hot heat within can be seen. Its tail is now a hot orb which lets off a more eerie glow than that of the Mareep's tail we all have come to know. Its skin is yellow. It has the ability Flame Body, which will be retained by Flaaffy and Ampharos.
Alolan Flaaffy begins to lose its rocky coat, but it still retains its Fire/Rock typing. Some of the rock melted when it evolved, giving it fiery streaks on its body. Thankfully, its skin is fireproof due to it being coated in a non-flammable lubricant. Its skin is orange. The remaining rock coat is darker in color and is always partially cracked. When it is in danger or simply wants to feel more comfortable, it will release a bit of debris from its coat. Alolan Flaaffy has learned to use its tail to light up the ground, which is a technique it uses to defend itself. The hot charcoal dropped by these Pokémon is used by the Alolan people when creating fires, as it helps increase the magnitude of the blaze. It is also a popular knickknack for tourists, though the people who collect them must make sure it is safe to touch first. Rarely a golden piece, which fetches a hefty price, may be found.

Alolan Ampharos is a pure Fire-type. The rocky coat is shed when it evolves. It is based on the concept of fire breathing. It can easily let a few embers out of its mouth, but it will breath into the orb on its tail to truly create a spectacle. Sometimes it will use leaves as well; they let off a more gaseous and light excretion, and a substance that can infect its opponents such as Sleep Powder or poison may be mixed in. It can let off glorious trails of fire with this tail, which is able to be seen at its best in battle. Its skin is a deep red. It orb on its tail looks like it has a bony claw holding it up, and a fire can be seen burning within it. The tighter the claw grips the orb the brighter it gets. Like its counterpart, Ampharos can use its tail as a beacon. The black lines are replaced with bony protrusions.
Lastly, there's Alolan Mega Ampharos (hypothetically). It is a Fire/Dragon-type. Unlike the Mega Ampharos from past games, which is based on a Chinese dragon, Alolan Mega Ampharos is based on an European dragon. It gains scaly rock skin; the scales are a hot red and look like they are molten, giving the impression that they are constantly moving. (Alolan Muk ended up having a similar trait.) It has rock spires that line its back, and it has a stone tiara-shaped crown on its head. Its ears are rock torches. The end of its tail is hammer-like, being made up of the same material that makes up this Pokémon's bones, and it uses this to attacks its foes. Finally, it gains wings that it can use to fly around; its ability is changed to Levitate. Alolan Mega Ampharos appears more aggressive than any other version of Ampharos. It has a bit of black around its eyes along with fiery eyelashes, and it has more bony protrusions scattered across its body. Its teeth are pointy, with rock-hard fangs sticking out of its mouth, and it often has a smug look on its face.
>>29187290
It's far worse.

Ability: Walking on Sunshine
>>29180436
I had a similar idea for the Totodile line, but the ones you have for Chikorita and Cyndaquil's lines are both unique and interesting. It's too bad that Alolan Forms will likely be restricted to the first set of Pokémon.
>>29187624
I don't see what's as awful about that as you see to suggest.

Sinnoh-Form Solrock and Lunatone
Rock/Ghost
Ability Cursed Body/Levitate
Solrock and Lunatone found in the Sinnoh region have become corrupted from the distorted waves emanating from Sendoff Spring.
Solrock's protrusions are now broken and it glows a faint purple as it slowly spins
Lunatone has a more disc shaped body, keeping it's nose, it looks like a shaded in moon in crescent phase.
Sinnoan Solrock seek out anything that gives off light and absorbs it's energy in an effort to make itself brighter. After reaching a brightness it believes is optimal, it will then enter the depths of Turnback Cave where it gathers with other Solrock. They have been observed to pulse in sync with each other in increasing frequency. Further observations of this pokemon have been hindered by a thick fog that seems to billow from the center of the pack.
Sinnoan Lunatone on the other hand sit quietly above the spring's still surface pointing it's "nose" at the night sky. Experts believe it is tracking radio waves given off by black holes. Local trainers, however, seem to think they are protecting the still glass like surface of the lake so that not even a ripple will mar it's surface.

Alolan Aggron
Steel/Grass type
Being stranded on the islands, and without any metal to eat, the Aggron was forced to take refuge in the forest areas. A thick layer of moss and vines cover it's body, and it's metal exoskeleton is left spotted with patches of rust and decay.
Ability would be Weak Armor, Alolan Aggron would have a higher speed than normal Aggron but less bulk, but still retain the massive attack stat.

Alolan Trapinch
Ice/Bug
Ability: Snow Cloak/ Hyper Cutter
HA: Adaptability
Originally a Pokemon from arid regions, the tropical nature of Alola and the presence of several Pokemon who preyed on them, such as Palosand, the Trapinch species was forced to move to the colder areas of Alola, were they hunt for prey making sinkholes in the snow.
>>29188879
>Bug
For what purpose? It is a dragon. With the skeleton.
>>29188905
Trapinch is based on the antlion, wich is an insect. Flygon is the one who's a dragon.
>>29188816
That's lightning ridge black opal, you can order it online.
>>29188954
But it isn't an actual antlion creature. You can tell among other things based on how the later stages have normal eyes with goggle-like covering instead of insect eyes.
>>29172951
I'm not sure if zoo's are a thing in Pokemon bro
>>29189005
Yeah, the later stages, but Trapinch itself is a bug, anon. the other two are dragons, but Trapinch is a bug. He doesn't even have the dragon type that Vibrava and Flygon have.
>>29172863
Alolan Unown
Type: Fire/Steel
Ability: Levitate
Base Stat Distribution: 72/26/82/26/82/48
Alolan Unown live near volcanoes and are made of iron. They have the ability to heat themselves to very high temperatures and brand other Pokémon with their signature move, Symbol Brand. When branded, a Pokémon gains special attributes. Different Unown forms produce different effects: one may swap Attack and Defense, while another may change a Pokémon's ability to Levitate. Symbol Brand does a very small amount of damage as well to Pokémon that aren't of the Fire type, with the move having a low 20 power. Unlike regular Unown, the Alolan variant can use another move: Hot Iron. This move lowers defense and special defense, but any opponent that touches Alolan Unown will gain the burn status condition. Hot Iron will not be a signature move like Symbol Brand. There is an in-game facility where an Alolan Unown's form can be changed at will, though players must search for molds of each form first. (the A mold is available to start with, while the rest must be obtained in the area where Alolan Unown can be caught.) The ! and ? forms do not have molds, however, needing to be obtained in the wild.
>>29189069
It is mono-ground. Like a turtle that lives in the sand until the wings grow in.
>>29189092
I forgot to mention that Symbol Brand id a Fire-type move and Hot Iron is a Steel-type move.
Part of me wishes they'd go back for a few remakes and localize some pokemon for different regions.
Like, Sinnoan Geodude line and Oryx like that are all Rock/Ice (or Steel/Ice for Steelix) and they adapted to the snowy Mountains.
I'd also like a grass/fighting Conkeldurr that uses a tree.
I know I'm ridiculous.
>>29176767
Minior looked like it should evolve into these two anyway, so I'd like to see something like this.
>>29189153
Seems possible if they feel like it, especially with how the other remakes kept the added evolutions and such from sequels back.
Alolan Mantyke/Mantine
>Type: Electric/Flying
>Abilities: Motor Drive
>HA: Speed Boost
South of Alola, in the open sea, there is a sea current that connects Kanto with these islands. The current is so fast that only a few Pokemon can utilize it, among of which is the Alolan Mantine. It has developed electric typing in order to neutralize the friction that the sea current produces, alowing them to swim freely in and out of them. Alolan Mantines are amongst the fastest swimers of the Pokemon world. The electricity that flows within its body feeds energy onto its propeller-like tail, allowing it to achieve such velocity that it can outspeed yachts and large cruisers. It can also discharge its electricity from its antennae, but by doing so its energy reserves can run out. To recharge, they swallow large quantities of water through its gills, similar to an hydraulic power plant.

Not sure if it was intentional, but something kinda similar happened irl.
Life on the Mauna Kea summit must
endure freezing temperatures, winter snow falls, and,
occasionally, hurricane-force winds. The centers of the
summit cones on Mauna Kea are permanently frozen to just
a few feet below the surface. Only lichens and some
mosses grow scattered on the tops of rocks. Until recently
these cold stone fields were thought to be devoid of
resident animal life.
An unusual new bug was first discovered in 1980 by
biologists searching for insects under stones on Pu`u
Wekiu. Although known to scientists as Nysius wekiuicola,
this "seed bug" in the family Lygaeidae was given the
common name "wekiu bug" to highlight the unusual location
where these insects live. As their familiar name implies,
most seed bugs feed on seeds by piercing their straw-like
mouth parts into the inner seed tissue and sucking it out.
However, since no native seed-bearing plants live in the
summit area of Mauna Kea, it was clear to biologists that
these insects must be tapping into a different food source
than their close relatives.
Entomologists studied the ecology of the wekiu bug to find
out how it could survive in such an extreme and hostile
environment. Unlike their seed-feeding relatives, the wekiu
bugs consume other dead and dying insects that get carried
upslope by winds and deposited at the summit. The bugs
search under rocks and across ash flows for fresh,
wind-blown carcasses. They then use their piercing
mouth-parts to puncture the exoskeleton of their prey and
suck out the juices inside.

Shuckle
Type: Ice/Bug
>Cold climate Shuckle would hoard extra berries in their shells to survive the extreme cold and lack of food sources at higher altitudes. Unfortunately, a side effect of the temperature, the decomposing berry juice would simply freeze inside their shell until thawed. These shuckle soon found a creative solution and adapted to form the frozen juice into edible frozen treats. By storing different kinds of berries, they can create different flavors. Each shuckle is capable of storing up to four at a time.
Yes I know it's ugly as sin but I like the concept of a Fire/Grass plant, holding Lava instead of poison
